What TripSync can see
TripSync requests one Google Calendar permission: free/busy availability (calendar.freebusy). That means we can see when you are busy — as anonymous time blocks — and nothing else.
What TripSync cannot see
Event titles, descriptions, locations, attendees, or anything inside your events. The Google permission we request does not include reading calendar events, and we never ask for write access to your calendar.
What other trip members see
Never your raw busy times. Other members only ever see the computed result — which date windows work for the group, and whether you're free, partly busy, or busy for a given window. This is enforced in our database security rules, not just the UI.
Storage & deletion
Busy blocks are cached only for the months your trip covers, refreshed at most daily, and deleted when the trip is deleted. You can revoke TripSync's access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately breaks our ability to read anything.
What we don't do
No selling data, no ads, no sharing with third parties beyond the services that run the app (Supabase for the database and login, Anthropic for destination suggestions — which never receives your calendar data, only trip preferences).
